I would say unless it's IBM or AMD that buys them out they are fucked. Intel would be a good company, but I think they would try to hard to compete with nVidia and you would end up having programs that would require either one type of card or the other. Obviously that would kill the gaming industry. IBM or AMD may be able to keep up the ATi goodness, but anyone else is going to be very bad IMHO.
