Major Nelson has a quick write-up about how to fix that annoying echo that sometimes pops up on Xbox Live. The first thing you need to know is that if you hear the echo it means that someone else is having the problem in the session. The person who isn?t hearing the echo is the issue. That person needs to clean their metal headset plug. MN recommends using a cotton swab and alcohol. Remember clean gamers and happy gamers.

Dave, I doubt this is the same issue you were having. First of all, you had it the very first day...right after I opened the brand new factory sealed headset. Second, you are the only one I have ever talked to who said I was echoing. I would say, it's more likely that something in your room (or house or street) is interfering with your wireless controller signal. Because the controller uses a 2.4Ghz signal, this could be interference from a cordless telephone or any 802.11x wireless ethernet signal.
Maybe it even has something to do with your <a href="http://hardware.slashdot.org/hardware/05/12/29/0055249.shtml?tid=184&tid=141">hearing loss caused by listening to your Nomad or PSP too loud</a>. <img src="./images/forum/smilies/icon_razz.gif" alt=":-P" />

You were not echoing, I was. I could hear myself talk.
